In this series, I want to express the whimsy that is ingrained in the monotony of problems we face every day in life through the bits and pieces on the clay body. It depicts the trials and turbulences that make life so dramatic yet tragic at the same time. There may be people crying for help, faces with exaggerated expressions, figures with elongated arms and legs and body parts that are webbed and piled together on top of a world of emotions & possibilities made up of tiny dots, lines and shapes. These art elements are arranged through juxtaposition of interesting textures and colours reflected by the clay body which is a mix of China clay and local white clay dug up from the vicinity near Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle.

i must be mad. one evening, i stayed at workshop till 12am alone sparying glazes over my whimsical series...

displayed at an exhibition....

about ten of them,it really took away silly thoughts from office routine...

i lost count but these are six of them after biscuit firing

"cuit" is French for baked, so "biscuit" literally means twice fired; once before the glaze is applied and then again fired to 1280C...

love this, cracked glaze inside, so natural.....

silly me, the day i completed it, i called it unity. so patriotic.

yap, it is officially named 'merry go round'

used this with flowers, lovely....
